Terms and Conditions

Article 1

This contract is intended exclusively for the booking of stays in guest rooms approved by the territorially competent departmental or interdepartmental office on behalf of the National Federation of Gîtes de France.
Under no circumstances may the National Federation of Gîtes de France be held liable if its contracts are used by third parties or for non-tourist purposes.


Guests will receive the warmest welcome. The owner agrees to personally welcome them with all due attention to ensure their stay goes smoothly and to help them discover the region.

Article 2 – Duration of stay

The client signing this contract for a fixed duration may not, under any circumstances, claim any right to remain on the premises beyond the agreed period.

Article 3 – Conclusion of the contract

The booking becomes effective once the client has sent the owner a deposit of 25% of the total price of the stay, with a minimum equivalent to one night per room booked, along with a signed copy of the contract before the date indicated on the front page.
The second copy of the contract must be kept by the client.
Prices include all charges as described in the information sheet, except for the tourist tax.

Article 4 – No right of withdrawal

For bookings made by mail, telephone or internet, the client does not benefit from any right of withdrawal, in accordance with Article L121-21-8 of the French Consumer Code, which applies in particular to accommodation services provided on a specific date or period.

Article 5 – Cancellation by the client

All cancellations must be notified by letter or fax to the owner.

a) Cancellation before the start of the stay:
If the cancellation occurs more than 24 hours before the start of the stay, the deposit remains with the owner.
If the cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the start of the stay, the deposit remains with the owner who may request payment of the remaining balance of the stay.

b) If the client does not arrive before 7 p.m. on the scheduled arrival day:
The contract becomes void and the owner may dispose of the rooms.
The deposit remains with the owner, who also reserves the right to claim the balance of the stay.

c) In case of early departure:
The full price of the initial stay remains payable to the owner.
Additional services not consumed will be refunded.

Article 6 – Cancellation by the owner

If the owner cancels the stay before its beginning, he must notify the client by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.
The client will be immediately refunded all amounts paid, without prejudice to any claim for damages.
The client shall also receive compensation at least equal to the penalty they would have incurred if they had cancelled on that same date.

Article 7 – Arrival

The client must arrive on the day and at the times specified in the contract.
In case of late or delayed arrival, the client must inform the owner.

Article 8 – Payment of the balance

The remaining balance must be paid upon arrival at the property.
Consumptions and additional services not included in the contract must be paid to the owner at the end of the stay.

Article 9 – Tourist tax

The tourist tax is a local charge that the client must pay to the owner, who then transfers it to the local authorities.

Article 10 – Use of the premises

The client must respect the peaceful nature of the premises and use them in accordance with their intended purpose.
They commit to returning the rooms in good condition.

Article 11 – Capacity

This contract is established for a specific number of guests.
If the number of guests exceeds this number, the owner may refuse additional clients.
Such refusal cannot be considered a modification or termination of the contract by the owner.
If the client decides to leave due to this refusal, no refund will be issued.

Article 12 – Animals

The contract specifies whether or not the client is allowed to stay with a pet.
If the client does not comply with this clause, the owner may refuse the animal.
This refusal cannot be considered a modification or termination of the contract by the owner, and no refund will be granted if the client chooses to leave.

Article 13 – Disputes

Any complaint concerning the condition of the premises must be sent to the departmental or interdepartmental Gîtes de France office within three days of arrival.
Any other complaint related to the stay must be sent by letter as soon as possible to the same office, which is responsible for making proposals to reach an amicable settlement.
These provisions do not affect the right of the client or the owner to pursue legal action.
